The MACC’s 25th Anniversary Celebration
Featuring “The Spheres” by Australia’s Strange Fruit

A&B Amphitheater

November 24, 2019

This is a FREE Celebration of Community and part of the festivities for the MACC’s 25th Anniversary Year.

The event starts at 4:00 pm and will conclude between 8:30/9 pm. “The Spheres” performances will be at approximately 6:15 pm and 7:45 pm.

MACC’s FREE gift to the community! The evening will include two presentations of “The Spheres” by the performing arts company, Australia’s Strange Fruit (produced by Strut & Fret Production House), whose spectacular work fuses theatre, dance, and circus.
“The Spheres” will be presented at this FREE event as part of MACC’s 25th Anniversary Celebration of Community! The program also includes live music with Hapa, Henry Kapono, Willie K, Zenshin Daiko, and the King Kekaulike Na Ali’i Big Band, an art activity, face painting, balloons, and more! There will be plenty fun all evening, including free birthday cake, and a fireworks finale!
In “The Spheres,” the Strange Fruit troupe delivers a sublime performance while perched atop 14-foot flexible poles, bending and swaying in a hypnotizing dance as the audience looks up in wonder. “The Spheres” takes a whimsical look at physics, the miracle of birth, and humanity’s existential relationship to our planet. ‘Celestial beings’ emerge from illuminated globes to recount a tale of transformation and wonder―covering creation, exultation, liberation, life, the universe, and everything in between!
