Join Maui Ocean Center and this month’s speaker, Kumu Lei Wann, for Kauhulu, a new cultural talking series. Like fish schooling toward the surface, let us collectively gather in a space that fosters aboriginal brilliance. This free event focuses on Hawaiian culture. Mea‘ai pono (light healthy foods) will be served. Doors open at 5:30pm

Kauhulu will take place exclusively in Maui Ocean Center’s Sphere with limited tickets available. Aquarium exhibits will be closed this evening.

About Kumu Lei Wann’s talk:
Kawaikini NCPCS is an school on Kaua’i immersed in Hawaiian Language with ‘Āina-Based Education. Our Curriculum is called Manokalanipo and is taught from K-12 grade. Each Page or grade level studies a Moku on our island and the idea is that a Kawaikini NCPCS student will be well diverse in Kaua’i Culture, History, and Practice. We are the moku of Ko’olau on Kaua’i. We focus on Ko’olau’s rich history of Limu. We grow limu, we restore limu, we malama our ocean’s gardens and ecosystems in Papa 3 & 4.
