“For more than 41 years, the community leaders addressing partner abuse have been women. The best strategy for effectively addressing violence in families and relationships involves everyone.”
PAU Violence, a UH Maui College sexual violence prevention project, in collaboration with the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa Women’s Center, Kane Connections and Made in Hope invite you to participate in our annual “Maui Men’s March/Rally Against Violence,” a men’s rally to stop domestic violence, sexual assault, gender violence, and other forms of intimate partner violence.
“Maui Men’s Rally Against Violence” is being held to increase awareness about issues of violence towards women on our campus and in our community. Through this march, we ask men to be the leaders in the fight towards preventing violence against women. It is our hope that this event will open up communication about various forms of intimate partner violence and to help men better understand and appreciate their partner’s experiences. It also highlights the fact that domestic violence, sexual violence, and intimate partner violence does not just affect women, but also the men, family, and friends who care about them.
